Recently I have found myself leaning more and more towards loose brushstrokes and irregular mark making. This piece started with a brush, ended with a palette knife, and I love the combination of abstract and representational qualities. I love how our eyes translate those little pink marks made by scraping across the paper into a field of wildflowers if we let them. The streaks of green turn into a tree lined field, and I can imagine driving by this scene with the windows down.
This piece was originally created using acrylic paint on paper. It was digitized for reproduction on UNFRAMED Lyve™ canvas which has a tight and even weave that is renowned for producing fine detail and terrific images. The Lyve™ Canvas is a 19 mil bright white, consistent poly-cotton blend matte canvas with an acid-free, neutral pH coating making it archival certified for 100+ years.
