Daddy's Woodpile

from $29.98

I took this photo just a couple of days after my daddy passed away. It is a lot more than a pile of wood to me. I saw my daddy cut and stack many logs over the years. I watched him saw those logs and make them into things. I learned from him as he sawed, planed, and sanded wood into beautiful pieces I am lucky enough to own today. I watched his resourcefulness as he overcame obstacles and taught me how to use tools and build my pieces. This woodpile floods me with feelings about his legacy and all he taught me...from how to use a miter saw and nail gun to problem solving and how to love your neighbor….he thought we were just doing woodwork, but it was so much more to me. This may just be a woodpile to some, but it is so much more to me.

This is an original photograph taken by Katie Lockhart. It was prepared for reproduction on UNFRAMED Lyve™ canvas which has a tight and even weave that is renowned for producing fine detail and terrific images. The Lyve™ Canvas is a 19 mil bright white, consistent poly-cotton blend matte canvas with an acid-free, neutral pH coating making it archival certified for 100+ years. It has a weight of 450g, a matte, natural white finish, and is Fine Art Trade Guild approved.

Pieces can also be printed on museum quality Hahnemühle paper, a natural white cotton art paper with an inkjet coating specially optimized for Fine Art printing upon request. Email at katielockhartart@gmail.com.
